There’s a reason why Mecole Hardman’s nickname is ‘The Jet’; blink once and you’ll miss him, blink twice and he’ll be celebrating in the end zone.
Having grown up in Bowman, Georgia, Mecole attended Elbert County High School, where his versatility became his claim to fame. In his four years, Mecole played both quarterback and defensive back with the common denominator between both of his positions being the speed he possessed. While making the 2015 USA Today All-USA Second Team Defense, Mecole also totaled over 2,730 all-purpose yards and 29 touchdowns during his time at Elbert. His combined efforts led to him being labeled as the 48th overall prospect in the nation by ESPN and the 13th overall prospect by 247Sports. Having offers from various top schools in the nation, Mecole ultimately chose to stay in-state and play for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.
